Rabbits don’t make many signs when they are ill or in pain. They don’t whimper or cry. So if you notice any signs of illness you need to get help immediately. Any of these symptoms need urgent veterinary investigation: 1. Your rabbit stops eating. This is an emergency. 2. Diarrhoea. All droppings are wet. 3. If your rabbit is immobile, hunched, lethargic. 4. Tooth grinding. 5. Bleeding, noisy breathing, or floppiness. 6. Wet paws, weeping eyes, dribbling mouth. 7. Biting when handled – if the bunny usually doesn’t bite. This probably means pain somewhere. 8. Over-grooming or self mutilation.
