CAN I LITTER TRAIN MY HAMSTER?

Yes, you probably can. Most hamsters use just one area for urinate on, and you can put a litter tray there. Use a shallow tray like the ones put underneath plant pots or the shallowest kind of these rectangular plastic trays on which supermarkets sell vegetables. These will fit well into corners. Occasionally a hamster will use a jam jar. To get your hamster to start using the right place, put the tray over its normal urination area. Then put some soiled material from the bottom of the cage, into the tray. Some hamsters use the little houses as latrines, perhaps because they feel more secure in a covered area.
