WHY IS MY GOLDFISH IS TURNING SILVER?

With age a goldfish may start showing silver scales among the gold, until, just like humans go grey, it becomes silver all over. When goldfish are very young they are dark for camouflage, then sometime up to the age of three they turn gold and red. In age they will tend to get silver. Some, like humans, go silver early. But if a relatively young fish starts showing a paler body underneath in patches, it is likely to be caused by injury or parasites. The other possibility is patches of white or grey fungus disease. In this case you would need to find an experienced fishkeeper or a vet to take a look at it.
